Água Hotels Riverside

I spent most of the holiday birdwatching from the veranda. With my telescope set up, I could watch little egrets, cattle egrets alongside horses, grey herons, around two dozen storks, and loads of house and sand martins. There was the occasional little owl, hoopoe, Iberian and ordinary magpies, plus sparrows making noise nonstop. At high tide there were fish and fiddler crabs in the water; at low tide the fiddlers were busy kicking their little balls of mud. The hotel itself was okay too. Some breakfast items could have been better: the bacon and ham seemed reconstituted, and the sausages were tasteless. Maybe that was just me after COVID.

The staff made us feel comfortable and welcome throughout our stay. Thanks especially to Nezerae, Vanessa, Fernando and Cynthia. We also loved the views, the pool and spa, and the tasty food. Agua Hotels Riverside made for the relaxing holiday we had hoped for, and we had a great time. 10/10, would recommend.

We only booked a week, which was the one thing we regretted. The hotel was so peaceful and relaxing that we wished we could stay longer, and we'll book differently when we come back. The breakfast and lunches were good, and the infinity pool was amazing. From our arrival, everyone treated us like old friends and made us feel welcome. Nothing was ever a problem, including the housekeeping team, who deserve a mention too. My family and I had a fantastic stay, and the owner and staff are a real credit to the hotel. Getting around was easy: the bus stop was a three-minute walk, and the train was about 8-10 minutes away on foot. There was a grocery store a minute away, or Aldi, Lidl or Continente about a ten-minute walk away. When we had to leave at 3.10am for our airport connection, the man at reception handed me a bag of breakfast. He said the manager knew we were leaving early and had arranged it. Such a lovely, thoughtful touch. If you're after peace and quiet in Parchal, this place is a great choice. Thanks again, Obrigado. Anthony from Ireland 🇮🇪

We had a peaceful, relaxing stay with lovely views over the river. Breakfast was excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the grounds were tidy. The bus stop, station and lidl were nearby. Victor, the manager, is a credit to the hotel, and the reception team were helpful, especially Roberto. Thanks for the hospitality. We'll definitely stay again. Wonderful.
