The room is convenient and good value, but it could use a freshen-up. The neighbours' dog is a problem, barking all night.

I really enjoyed the lively atmosphere here, from the rooms themed around Golden Age of Hollywood actresses to the cabaret show in the restaurant downstairs. I speak very little Portuguese, but still enjoyed the show, so don't let the language put you off. As a solo traveller looking to experience the community at lower cost, I chose the super single room, Barbara Stanwyck. It had a twin bed that was very comfortable, plus its own kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, and sink. I didn't get around to cooking, but it was nice to have the option to save money that way. The room was clean and efficient. This is a vibrant neighbourhood, with a train station across the street connecting me to the city and tourist sites for $6.50 a day. Only one side of the station sells tickets, so check before you leave. There was some street noise at night, but to me that's part of the fun of a city celebrating life. This sweet place has a heart of gold, and I'll definitely stay again one day.

The price felt very fair for what you get. The studios are clean and nicely decorated, with the train close by, the ocean an easy walk away, and plenty of shops and restaurants around, including one of the country's best seafood places, "Eduardo das Conquilhas". There’s also a rooftop and a fitness studio where guests can take yoga and pilates classes. Carla, the Manager, was kind and helpful.

You get a peaceful stay here without being far from Lisbon. The train station is right outside, so getting into the city is easy, but you’re away from all the traffic and noise. The rooftop views are lovely, and the service was incredible. One of the best spots for visitors to Lisbon.
