Estrebuela House

The woman who welcomed us was very friendly. Finding the place was a bit difficult since there’s no sign on the house. We felt the nightly price was a little high, especially with breakfast not included. The hot water was hard to adjust, and the little house got very hot. It really needs air conditioning, since the fan alone wasn’t enough.

The breakfast was fantastic, with fresh fruit, orange juice squeezed there, cold cuts and cheeses, plus a traditional sweet. The woman running the place and especially her assistant were so kind. The rooms were mostly clean and comfortable, though the sofa bed we slept on smelled a bit musty. The pool looked nice, but was out of service while we were there. From the outside the house seems rundown, but inside it’s beautiful.

The people were friendly, and breakfast in the dining room was excellent. There’s also a lounge with a game table, and outside there’s a green area with dogs, plus a pool surrounded by tables, chairs and loungers. The pool shower doesn’t work. Getting from the upstairs rooms to the pool is awkward, and traffic noise carries into those rooms at night. The downstairs rooms are easier to reach from the pool, but their beds are very small.

There’s no air conditioning, and opening the window at night is out of the question because of the noise. The house is right by a very loud road and the soundproofing is poor. This bourgeois house could do with a proper renovation.
