Casa de Ribo

The standout for me was Senhora Dona Luísa. She's such a lovely person, and you can feel how much love and care she puts into looking after her guests. The price for the quality is excellent, the location is great, and everything was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with what you need. Casa de Riobom is easy to recommend. I'm coming back, that's a promise. Senhora Dona Luísa, thank you for everything. You have a huge heart.

We stayed at Casa de RioBom in Soajo from September 18 to September 21, and had a wonderful time. It sits in the middle of Peneda-Geres National Park. The house is in the almost car-free center of Soajo, so from the large parking lot you need to call Louisa, who comes to collect you. Inside, the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathroom have an authentic feel. Fresh rolls are left on the door each morning, sandwich fillings go in the fridge, and the bed is made. We arrived to find fruit and a freshly baked cake, with several kinds of jam and honey for breakfast as well. There are restaurants nearby, though when we visited in September only one was open. The owner, Sr. Mário, was exceptionally kind and always available. It's a beautiful little rustic house, but still extremely comfortable, and everything is clean and carefully prepared with guests' wellbeing in mind. The owner's sweets and liqueurs, fruit laid out for us, and the firewood being replenished all made the stay feel special. Don't miss it!

We only booked two nights at Casa de Ribô, but by the end we wished we could have stayed much longer. The welcome was so warm, with stories, tips, suggestions, and little surprises along the way. If you're stopping in Soajo, give them a call and stay!
