It’s a comfortable place for the price, with clean, pleasant rooms and the basic things you need, like towels, a little cutlery and somewhere to cook. The pool was the letdown: it was closing just 30 minutes after we arrived, so we had to hurry over, even though we’d been looking forward to relaxing there after a long day of hiking. Check the opening hours.

Our apartment style unit had plenty of room for us, and the two cathedral style windows let in lots of light while looking out over the mountains. The air conditioning worked really well during the brief heat wave. Good quality for the price, and we’d happily stay again.

For 20eur pp, the quality for the price was good, and I’d come back. The restaurant is well placed in the small village of Vila do Gerês and has a menu with something for different tastes and needs. The local steak with french fries was amazing, and there were also treats like douro wine, cheese and bread.

The hotel restaurant was where we had dinner, and breakfast was simple but enough. The place was very clean. Our room felt a bit tight and the beds weren’t the best, but I don’t have many complaints and would book again.
