We loved the garden with its palms and barbecue, and the lovely terrace where we could sit at the tables and chairs and look toward Pico. Parking at Quinta do Torcaz is large and convenient. Our apartment had plenty of space and was in a building with an authentic feel, though it was unfortunately quite damp. Opening the windows brought the humidity down quickly. The kitchen was well equipped, there was a nice sitting area and a drying rack, handy for swimming days, and the bed was fine. There was no air conditioning, but the fan worked well. The bathroom was spacious, though there wasn't much room for toiletries, and the shower took a while to heat up.

Breakfast out on the shared terrace was our favorite part. There was so much wildlife around, and the gardens were beautiful and open for guests to enjoy. The host showed us around when we arrived. Our apartment was clean and comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and we slept really well. We spent 10 days in the Azores, and Quinta do Torcaz was easily our favorite stay. The location is beautiful, and we thought Horta was the best island. The drive to the house felt safe and easy. We can't wait to come back, and I'd plan to spend extra time here.

The terrace was huge and had a terrific view, with an enormous garden full of exotic trees, flowers, and plants. It was one of the best places I stayed during our 15-day Azores trip, and the setting was quiet and peaceful. You'll need a car, and Horta is about 15 minutes away by car. The only drawback for me was that the apartment didn't have much cooking equipment.

We really enjoyed the garden tour and hearing about all the plants and kinds of palms. They grow herbs you can pick for dinner or tea, along with lemons and bananas. The hosts were lovely and helpful, with good suggestions for places to visit and eat. Our apartment was well equipped, with more than we needed, including an oven we used every day. It had a very comfy couch and the most comfortable bed we slept in throughout the Açores. The terrace had a wonderful view and was such a nice place to spend time. An amazing place to stay, and I'd highly recommend it for a few days.

A great start to our Faial/Azores trip. Communication and check-in were easy, and our stay felt restful. The owners were friendly and shared helpful, up-to-date information. We were impressed by how committed they are to doing a great job. This place sets a high standard for other lodging on the island.
