Deck Lodge - Hostel

The rooftop is a real plus at DECK LODGE. Fred and Maria were warm and always ready to help, and the hostel itself is a lovely place to stay. Tom’s cooking and cocktails were a-ma-zing, which mattered a lot to us as foodies. Keep the good vibes and waves going!

In the heart of Peniche, this lovely little hostel sits in a town with lots of culture, waves, beautiful beaches, and friendly people. We had delicious breakfasts and dinners, great company from people around the world, and unforgettable hospitality. Don’t miss it on a trip through Portugal. Thanks so much, Fred, Maria and Tom.

The owner was really cool and shared helpful tips about surf spots and the island. He was friendly and available around the clock if we had a question or problem. We’d definitely stay again. The location made it easy to get around: the beach is a couple of minutes away, the port is a five-minute walk, and the center of peniche has plenty of bars and restaurants. Deck Lodge itself was great, with clean, fresh rooms, a well-equipped kitchen, and a nice deck area to hang out.

Everything is close by, whether you go on foot, by car, or by bike: great beaches, especially for surfing, the Berlengas islands, restaurants, bars, and coffeeshops. We’d happily recommend this hostel and plan to come back. The host was lovely, helpful, and always available. The rooms were tidy and nice, and the spacious, cozy dining room had everything we needed to make breakfast. There’s a magnificent view from the terrace, plus a friendly bar and great music. The service was five-star.
