Hotel Columbano

We’d come back. It’s a handy stop if you’re passing through, especially on a motorcycle, whether you’re traveling alone or with a group. The rooms were clean, there was parking, and the hotel has a pool.

The location feels a little out of the way, though a walk nearby turned out better than I expected. When I asked reception what there was to do that afternoon, the answer was that there was nothing around here. My room was spacious enough, clean, and had a river view. I slept well, enjoyed the breakfast, and had a good stay overall.

The hotel is peaceful, with a lovely promenade nearby where there's an entertainment area. Godim station, Lidl, and Regua, with its many restaurants, are also close. We liked the pool and the very good breakfasts. The staff were especially helpful: they contacted booking and changed our reservation from two double rooms to one triple without a penalty, then gave us a discount when we extended our stay. For the price, it’s a great hotel.

The staff were kind and breakfast was good, and everything was clean. Still, the room felt old and was small. The bed wasn't very big or comfortable, so even at the low price, I didn't feel it was worth it.
