We spent two nights with our family at Quinta Santa Julia's Casa da Portela and took part in their Being Authentic experience. A magnificent pool was ours alone, and the house had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The home, food, and wine were all outstanding, with impeccable service as well. The experience included a six-course show cooking dinner with wine pairings, made just for us and served in the loveliest setting on our porch overlooking the vineyards. I’ve already recommended Quinta Santa Julia to several friends.

Raphael was a wonderful host, sharing the area's history and explaining how the grapes become wine in a way that worked for us as non-wine makers, while still giving experienced tasters something to appreciate. The tasting came with a meal made from fresh estate ingredients that paired nicely with the wines. This beautiful family winery has lovely views and delicious port wines. We'd love to visit again.

Rafael was a welcoming, kind guide who knew a lot about the region, the wine, and how it’s made. We tried several lovely wines and had a delicious lunch using local ingredients. The grounds are well kept and the views are incredible. This beautiful family-owned vineyard in the Douro valley is definitely worth a visit.

The tasting felt so personal, thanks to Rafaella, who was funny, knowledgeable, and quizzed us throughout, making us think a lot. She was a delightful host. The food was amazing too, and the grounds were beautiful, with spectacular views. This has been the best part of our vacation so far. Thanks for such a wonderful visit!

After hiking up from town and getting engaged at the lookout on the way, we stopped by Santa Julia. What we thought would be a quick tasting turned into the perfect end to the day. Paulo is truly one of a kind, and gave us a wonderful afternoon, teaching us about the region's history and wines while making the whole visit special. The wines are excellent and the service impeccable. We couldn't have asked for more, and can't wait to return.
