The Holy Cow Hostel Suites

The laundry service was 10 euros, more than at some hostels, but it was full service. Within a few hours, everything was neatly folded in a basket in my room, so 10/10 for that. Breakfast was a solid European continental spread: bread, meat, cheese, fruit, yogurt, and the usual things. No complaints. I stayed a few nights and found the location really convenient. Everything in Ponta Delgada was walkable, parking around the hostel was decent, and it was easy to drive to the rest of the island. Street parking was mostly free but could be hard to find. R. José Bensaúde always had spots when I was there, with little traffic, so it was easier to park if parallel parking stresses you out. It's a short walk away. My ground-floor room was great, with very little street noise, a good ensuite bathroom, a comfortable bed, and its own AC unit. There wasn't much of a social atmosphere, but the staff were extremely friendly at breakfast and gave plenty of advice about things to do. Gonzalo, if I'm spelling that correctly, was especially attentive and made a point of talking to everyone.

The breakfast was nice, the place was squeaky clean, and the atmosphere was good. It’s in a great location, and the staff were really helpful and friendly. The owner especially was an absolute gentleman, always willing to help.

The hosts were amazing, and breakfast was great too. The place has an incredible style, with cows throughout, and the interior is newly renovated. Rooms were great, with AC I could control myself. Just don't expect a lively youth hostel social scene. Most guests seemed to be there to sleep and have breakfast. I'd definitely return when I'm in Ponta Delgada again.

The hosts made breakfast themselves and joined us, sharing great tips for exploring the islands along with their history and culture. The food was delicious. The hostel has a fun cow theme, and the rooms are fresh and nicely decorated, with hotel-level private rooms and stylish bathrooms. The ventilator above the bed was especially useful in the humid climate. Loved this cozy little place.
