The Homeboat Company Ponta Delgada

The roof deck was a lovely spot to relax on a lounger or hammock and watch the sunrise or sunset. I also slept so well in the comfortable bed, gently swaying with the boat. Parking costs €15 a day, but it was worth it for the underground car park that opens straight onto the marina, making it easy to get luggage to the accommodation. The boats are fabulous, thoughtfully designed, and in a perfect place to explore Ponte Delgada. The team were super friendly and helpful, and really made an effort to give me a great stay. I planned one night but stayed two because I liked it so much. Catarina communicated excellently, Sandra was lovely, and the other team members I met were great too. Breakfast was superb. Definitely coming back!

Sandra greeted us in the evening, and the service was excellent. The place is small, as expected, but thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. Being right in the marina puts you close to the main city and makes it easy to get around. They even provided bikes for exploring the city. We were four people and it worked well for a short stay, though groups with a lot of baggage might find it too small.

The boat was great and well equipped, and breakfast was just right, with plenty to eat. The location worked perfectly, with most things walkable and the rest easy to reach by free bikes or accessible public transport. The on-site staff were caring and professional. Thank you, Sandra and the others who were there. Our booking had a problem because of my mistake, but the team fixed it quickly and kindly. Arrival and check-in instructions were clear, everything went smoothly, and communication was excellent online, by phone, and in person. The price fit our budget and was competitive with other places we considered. The facility met, if not exceeded, what we expected. I've stayed in countless places across many countries, and I can honestly say a lot of people could learn from how Homeboat Company runs an accommodation and experience business.

It's very small, and the cleanliness wasn't good, though the staff were kind and breakfast was nice. We get dizzy easily, and the company doesn't seem very concerned about cancellations. We understand the policy, but this kind of room could be vulnerable to cancellation depending on the waves and wind speed. We had to move to another hotel and lost the money we paid for the reservation.
