Rita from Stay Madeira Island was warm and helpful, and made us feel welcome. The house had everything we needed, including a very well equipped kitchen, and was spacious enough for a small family or two couples. The interior is a little dated, but that didn’t bother us. Both balconies have stunning views, and it’s a short walk downhill into the heart of Ponta do Sol. The slope is steep but manageable.

Rita was lovely, kind, and helpful, and made everything uncomplicated. The apartment felt a little dated, but both terraces have a brilliant 180-degree view: sunrise from the bedroom and sunset from the terrace. Everything was spacious and adequately equipped, including the rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and terraces. The showers were always hot enough, though you had to wait a little. The main things that kept it from being a five-star stay were the neighbor's dog barking constantly and people often blocking the very narrow garage entrance. Telling the dog to shut up sometimes worked. Getting out meant reversing bravely, with a bit of risk.
