The owner even told us it was normal to sleep with worms and cockroaches in the bed. That was the worst stay I’ve ever had. The place was full of large and small cockroaches and worms, in the bed, on the table, in the bathroom, on the floor and ceiling, on the towels, in our shoes, and elsewhere. The room was extremely humid and smelled awful. There was no linen, so we had to improvise a bed. The apartment felt like a former garage that had simply been whitewashed. The sofa was broken and hard to lie on, the shower enclosure was broken and badly installed, and there was nowhere to hang clothes, so they ended up on the bed or in our suitcases. We were freezing because there was no heating. The internet was weak or nonexistent, and I had to buy matches to light the stove. The listing was full of lies: the property is 5 km from the main town, high up on a mountain, and you can’t get there without a car. The pool isn’t private, and neither are the balcony and terrace. They’re upstairs, separate from the apartment, and shared by several houses. The owner was rude and arrogant. The car we rented from the owner was almost as bad as the Titanic. A kind police officer spared me a fine, even though the lights barely worked.
