Tempus Hotel & Spa

There are fantastic views of Geres, plus plenty of outdoor space and a pool for hot days. We made good use of the spa too, with its indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. Each day of our stay included an hour of spa time for free, and it was worth it. The rooms were large and comfortable with everything we needed. Breakfast offered lots of choice, including eggs and sausages.

Manuel deserves a big shout out for calling around to get our backpack back and for recommending and organizing the best regional tours. We went on some great hikes, and the trail horse riding was one of the best rides I've ever had. Fernando also took such good care of us with great food, drinks, and excellent music. We had a lovely five-day stay, thank you for having us!

The staff were very nice and always ready to help, and the breakfast was okay: there wasn't much variety, but what was there was good. Still, I'm not coming back, and it's a shame because the hotel has potential if it were better cared for. The room had several problems. The carpets looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time, only vacuumed. Some lamps had no bulbs, and the bathroom lighting was very poor. The hotel controlled the AC, so I couldn't adjust the temperature or turn it off without asking reception. Water pressure was an ongoing issue, and most days there was no hot water. On the first day, the toilet stopped flushing. I don't recommend the spa. The pool water was green and smelled moldy. It looked as though there was no chlorine and maintenance was very poor, perhaps nonexistent.

We slept very comfortably in a great bed and would definitely stay here again. Check-in came with a very warm, friendly welcome. We had both lunch and dinner, and the food and service were excellent, with very reasonable prices, especially for the wines. The spa and indoor pool were enjoyable too. Before leaving, we had a very good breakfast with fresh fruit, cheeses, cakes, juices, scrambled eggs, coffee, and a selection of teas.
