Residencial Retiro Sra Da Luz

The view from my room is amazing, and for the price this place is great. It’s not the nicest place I’ve stayed, but it has nearly everything you need and, so far, things seem fine in general. The big problem is how badly sound carries. It’s around 11 pm and I can hear people’s entire conversation loudly from my own room. They ask guests to respect quiet hours at check-in, so if the people staying nearby are considerate, you should be fine.

The owner is attentive and really nice, and the room was simple, clean and comfortable. It’s a fantastic place. I’m giving four stars instead of five because it’s about a 15-20 minute walk both to the city center and to the Camino route.

I felt lucky to find a private room along the Camino. The owner welcomed me kindly and explained everything in Portuguese, and we managed to understand each other. The place is a little dated, but it’s very clean and well equipped. It’s around a 20-minute walk into town, and I really enjoyed how peaceful it was.

The couple running this place are so special, helpful and kind in a quiet, unusual way. My room was spacious and pleasant, with a good bed and hot shower, and everything indoors and out was super clean. There’s a kitchen but no stove, plus a washing basin and a line for hanging laundry. Tea and coffee were available too. I had a really good rest.
