Herdade da Sanguinheira

We stayed in one of the villas and couldn’t fault it. It was comfortable and beautiful, with everything we needed for a lovely stay. The fully equipped kitchen has a table inside, and there’s another outside on a private terrace with loungers and a view across the Alentejo landscape. Everything was extremely clean and well maintained, and the pool was perfect. The herdade is a great place to disconnect and recharge. It has lovely animals, including horses, donkeys, dogs, goats, chickens, cats, and turtles. They add to the charm, though being around them is up to you. Shared areas are set aside for each room or villa, so there’s no need to worry about having a breakfast table or pool loungers. Breakfast was lovely and they’ll adjust it to your needs. Since the herdade is isolated, they offer food throughout the day for an extra fee, which is handy if you don’t feel like cooking. You can also shop in the nearby town, 15 minutes away by car, and prepare your own meals. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We’ll be back, and I’d highly recommend it for a real Alentejo experience.

We had a great time with family and friends in this quiet spot surrounded by nature. It’s a wonderful place to rest, and the people are very nice. The optional lunches and dinners were fantastic. Highly recommended!

A lovely spot for families to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Alentejo.

We planned to stay for two nights and three days, but left after an hour. The T2 apartment we were given smelled musty and damp, and it looked nothing like the photos. The house, especially the kitchen, was old and not in good condition. There was no phone signal either. Given these problems, they refused to refund any of the roughly 400 euros we’d paid with the reservation. I don’t recommend it. Very amateurish.
