Ukino Palmeiras Village Family Resort - All Inclusive

The hotel was lovely, spotless, and well organised, with cleaners doing a good job. There’s a decent range of things to do, and the staff were welcoming and tried to help. We only ate from the all-inclusive buffets, which had a good selection, including interesting and unusual options. I liked that there was food for kids too. The all-inclusive food and drinks covered everything we needed, so we didn’t spend anything extra. I also thought the Crocs for my little girl were reasonably priced. The blonde woman in the shop by reception was especially nice and helpful. The kids’ club was the main problem for us. My children felt a bit singled out. I had to stay with my two-year-old, which I didn’t mind, but my six-year-old seemed lost and wasn’t sure what he was allowed to do. My younger one saw the face painting in another room and wanted to join in. We were asked whether we were English or spoke French. I said yes, but then was told she couldn’t stay in that room or have her face painted for that reason. I didn’t understand why I had to explain that to my two-year-old and say no to her face. It felt unfair and uncomfortable. The other staff were kind, and maybe it depends on the day, but my son wanted to leave after five minutes because he felt excluded. I’m not sure if that was his own anxiety or something else, but I felt uneasy too. The kids loved the arcade. It would’ve been useful to have a euro coin machine there as well as tokens. Some kids also took coins from my children’s hands or pushed my son off the motorbike ride, and I wish a staff member had been keeping an eye on that area. The children’s activities could be better for a hotel aiming to be family-friendly, but it’s still a really lovely hotel.

The nearest beach, Cova Redonda, is about a five-minute walk away, and the hotel is easy to get around, with a modern, tidy feel. Our room had a large bathroom that was very clean, a huge bed, and a sofa bed that opened into a double. It was spacious and had a pleasant pool view with part of the sea visible. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The main restaurant had satisfying, varied vegetarian choices, and there are four bars with a nice range of drinks. A 24-hour snack bar between meals was handy, and both it and the restaurant had areas set aside for children’s food. The whole place was being cleaned and maintained constantly. The gym was decent too, with treadmills, stationary bikes, free weights, and a cable machine. There are kids’ clubs, though my children didn’t use them, so I can’t comment on those. We’ve just returned from an all-inclusive stay at Ukino Palmeiras Village. It was comfortable and pleasant, and I’d recommend it to families looking for a clean, friendly, well-run Algarve holiday.

We stayed for a week with our children and grandchildren, who covered all the main age groups, and there was something for everyone. The rooms were lovely, the food choices were great, and the fun pool and water slides went down well with them all. Dinner didn’t start until 7 pm, and evening entertainment began at 9 pm, which felt a little late for the younger kids. They were often falling asleep by then. Still, it was an amazing holiday none of us wanted to end, and we’ll definitely return. A fantastic hotel for families.

We spent a week here at the end of September and highly recommend it. The hotel is clean and well organised, with excellent food, great staff, lots of outdoor space, and plenty of sun loungers. There are two good-sized pools plus smaller paddling pools for kids. It’s about a ten-minute walk to two beautiful beaches. For a quieter one, walk through the tunnel.
