The location itself is fine, but the noise ruined the stay we’d hoped would be peaceful. A neighboring unit that shared our wall was undergoing major renovations, with drilling and construction going on throughout the day. We weren’t told about the work beforehand. Had we known, we would have booked a different unit, since several were available when we made our reservation. This was not the quiet, relaxing accommodation we expected.

We love the Algarve and know this area very well. We booked the villa for a month in November and December for our family of four, including two young children, but left before spending a night there. It was freezing, there was no central heating, and the house smelled very bad. We had told them before arriving that we’d be bringing our one-year-old. The paint was coming off the walls, and when we asked about heat, we were told the fireplace didn’t work. They gave us four very old electric heaters that smelled awful when switched on. With a baby, we considered the burn risk too high. There were other problems too, including dirty nappies in the garden, but the lack of safe heating was the main one. Reception offered another villa, but it was completely different in style from the one we’d booked, old and dark. Since we were meant to stay a whole month, we declined and found another place nearby the next day. It cost more, but gave us the comfort we needed with two small children. We were devastated. Our biggest mistake was paying the second instalment of €750 at check-in, before seeing the house. We weren’t required to pay it then, but trusted them. They refused to return the money we would otherwise still have had. Reception, especially the general manager João, were unhelpful throughout. They stopped replying to emails for long stretches, even though they’d been quick at first, and made paperwork difficult. After we came back a third time and demanded a refund, reception said João wouldn’t allow it unless we gave up all our customer rights. We wouldn’t sign away those rights, which would have made it easy for them not to repay us. Reception gave us the impression that the manager wasn’t a nice person, and to this day we think even the staff are afraid of him. They always seemed stressed and unhappy. We’re still trying to recover 50% of the €1,500 we paid, despite spending just one night in the villa, dressed in three layers because of the unsafe conditions. They also lied in their reply to the credit card company after we requested a chargeback, so now we’ll get a lawyer in Portugal and take the matter to court. It’s not about the money, but about how we think people shouldn’t be treated. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

It’s a quiet resort, and there’s an easy walk to two beautiful beaches at Senhora da Rocha. Lord's Bar is nearby for a good cocktail or coffee with ocean views, and Palmeiras has wonderful grilled food. Sweet Spot is handy for brunch, drinks, or a meal. One of the best locations in the Algarve. We’ll definitely come back!

I rented apartment C10, and the place was shockingly dirty when we arrived. It was clear the cleaner hadn’t done the job. I’d paid an extra 20 euros for my cat, who was probably the cleanest thing there. I showed reception photos of the dirt, and they refunded the pet fee without a problem. They offered to send a cleaner that afternoon, but our plans and an unexpected broken car wheel made that impossible, so we left very early the next morning. Ironically, the bedsheets were the only clean part. I’d hoped for another way to make up for the unpleasant arrival, but they limited the refund to the cat fee. The apartment door wouldn’t close properly, letting in wind, hair, and insects. The property, especially the covered pool area, also looked neglected and almost abandoned. The gate from the beach entrance, which used to be open, is now shut. The restaurant staff were friendly and we enjoyed our meal, and the receptionists were kind too. Still, after the strange trouble with our car wheel, we left feeling uneasy. My experience was negative. It could be a paradise again, but in its current condition it’s hard to recommend.
