The apartment was spacious, very clean and a good price. It's in a quiet spot, but Praia do Vau beach, bars and restaurants are just a five minute walk away, as is the bus stop. You can take the bus to Portimao, Alvo and Praia do Roche. My only complaint is the check in. You have to collect the keys from another nearby hotel, a 25 minute walk or a short taxi ride. I'd still come back.

Club Praia de Vau was okay to stay at, but Alpharooms describes the property blatantly inaccurately. There is no swimming pool and no reception area. You have to get the room keys from another hotel more than 2 km away. I wouldn't book through alpha rooms, since they don't represent the property fairly or correctly.

Great value, with easy parking and a big fridge. The apartments are roomy, with large balconies, comfy sofas, proper baths and plenty of hot water. The area is quiet, with good views and facilities, and it's close to both town and beach.

I spent a week here with my husband, despite dreading it after reading the awful reviews. My main gripe was having to check in at another hotel to get the key, which was a nuisance after travelling. The taxi there cost €14.
