Pestana Blue Alvor Beach - All Inclusive Hotel

We came in January, outside the main season, and I liked how quiet it was. The food was amazing, with lots of different fish at lunch and dinner every day. Our sea-view room faced both the sea and the swimming pool, and the hotel has a path down to the seafront that makes for a nice walk. Big thanks to Teresa and Miguel from the entertainment team, who were bubbly and friendly and made us feel welcome and entertained. Olena at the bar was friendly too while serving drinks. It’s a really nice place to stay. I’d highly recommend it and would certainly consider coming back.

The animation team kept the quieter off-season days lively. We enjoyed an aqua gym class and the evening entertainment, and they stayed enthusiastic even with fewer guests around. The hotel is modern, with two outdoor pools and a heated indoor one, and it's well placed for the beach, walks to the nature reserve, and the route into Alvor. We booked at the last minute after our original holiday fell through, without doing much research, and feel very lucky with how the stay has gone. Staff have been polite and friendly, and it's been a great stay so far.

Our little one loved the nightly minidisco and the play areas, and the indoor pool was just right for him. The entertainers made a point of greeting him, giving him high fives or hugs as they passed, which helped him feel at home and brought a huge smile to his face. Everyone around the hotel was so friendly. We had a spacious family room with a large bed, two singles, and a balcony with a lovely sea view. Sitting outside was a treat. The main room issue was housekeeping: things like tissues were often not replaced, and some items weren't properly washed or cleaned. Twice, the cleaner got angry when we were in the room. With a young child, we needed to come and go sometimes. The beach is under a 10-minute walk away, with beautiful sand and shells our son enjoyed. There's also a scenic, accessible boardwalk along the sea towards Alvor, which is well worth visiting. Food and drinks had a good range and were generally available. The veggie corner had some very nice vegetarian and vegan options, though there often weren't many vegetarian salads. We would have liked more variety in the desserts and fruit. We had a wonderful week here with our 2-year-old and are already discussing a return. We want to thank the staff for their kindness and help making it a special trip.

Ruben and Ines at reception were really helpful when they sorted out our room mix-up and gave us a free upgrade, so we had more space. We also had a fun day with the animation team. Jonathan and Miguel were absolute jokers, and Jenga and Petounc got surprisingly competitive! We came for a quiet break from the gloomy UK weather in March. The hotel was very quiet, with 92 residents in a place built for around 1,200, so bring your own energy. On the bright side, the pool, sauna, and steam room were never too busy, and we had the whole place to ourselves one morning. There are lots of lovely outdoor pools too, which should be really nice once summer comes around.
