Aqua Natura Bay

The beds were extremely comfortable, and we had a great time at this very nice hotel. Its location is really good, and the breakfast buffet was delicious, though it could have had a little more variety. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Cleaning could be better, and the spa is quite small. Still, a very decent choice.

The weeknight guest activities were a highlight, especially the wine tasting and Portuguese lessons with Caroline. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel made a great base for exploring the area. Breakfast was fresh and tasty every day. We also enjoyed the indoor pool, though it was too chilly to use the outdoor one. We loved staying here and would highly recommend it.

We felt welcome right from the start, with friendly staff greeting us with wine and a welcome drink. The room had a stunning view, and the huge beds were incredibly comfortable. The location was hard to beat. Breakfast was one of the best meals we had during our whole Madeira trip. The spa was fantastic too, with indoor and outdoor infinity pools that made it easy to unwind. Best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. If I could, I’d give it 6 out of 5 stars ⭐️

The quick check-in was a plus, and we were given homemade jam and a postcard by the friendly staff when we checked out. There were also nice espresso capsules for breakfast and soft, fluffy towels and bathrobes. Those things didn’t change how we felt about the hotel, though. We spent a few hours in the spa, but the main pool area was so cold it was hard to relax. There were brown dirt lines in the jacuzzi, which I found quite disgusting and couldn’t bring myself to enter. There was hair on the floor, and I didn’t see anyone come by to check the spa or clean it. The tiles by the sauna were very slippery, and I saw a few people nearly fall. I’m surprised they used that type of tile there. We also tried Lapa restaurant. Dinner was good, though I wouldn’t describe the octopus as “cooked to perfection.” The waiter suggested we order bread but never brought it. We asked three times for tea with dessert, and only the dessert arrived. They did remember to include everything on the bill, though :) We stayed two nights in April in a family room on the 1st floor. The view was underwhelming, mostly an empty terrace, parking and local neighbors houses. Cleaning hadn’t been done properly, including on the dining chairs and living room sofa. The balcony door was broken and didn’t close fully, so we heard the wind and felt a draft. On the second night the hot water was only lukewarm. The shower glass was a bit too short, so water got onto the bathroom floor, and the bathroom smelled damp.
