The worst part was how unsafe and uncomfortable it felt, especially with two kids. At about 19:00, suspicious guys were outside when we came through the hotel’s main glass door. They tried to open it after us. Luckily, we’d closed it as the sign behind the door asked for safety, and we had entered with a code. The reception closes after 18, which made it seem like the hotel knows the area isn’t safe. Getting around inside was unsettling too. We took the elevator to the second floor, but it wouldn’t work when we tried to go down. The corridor felt creepy, and we couldn’t see a clear way out. We tried a few room doors before finding the staircase. It felt like a hotel horror movie. The bathroom was dirty, with a rusty floor. Our kids woke up crying because the sofa bed was hard and uncomfortable, with awful fabric and bad edges, and the pillows kept falling off all night. We paid for one night thinking it would be a good hotel for the price. It was horrible, dirty, and uncomfortable. We’ve stayed in cheaper places that were clean and felt safe. Be careful if you’re visiting as a family with kids. Don’t be fooled by the nice pool and room pictures. Avoid Oporto Maison Anselmo. I’m posting this to warn people, and you can check that it’s genuine by looking at our original review on Booking.

The garden could use sun shades. The pool is small, but enough for what we needed. The apartments are new, clean, sound isolated, and tastefully furnished. The kitchen has good equipment, and both the bed and sofa bed are comfortable. Public transport and a large shopping street are nearby, along with plenty of supermarkets.

The room itself was great, with plenty of storage, comfortable beds and bathroom, and good equipment overall. We stayed two nights, so the room wasn’t cleaned during our stay. Breakfast came in a quite full box delivered to the front door. A washing machine would be useful for longer stays. Check-in was difficult. At 9PM we were stuck in the garage, rang the bell but couldn’t get into the building. We tried calling, then luckily another guest came down and let us in. The sauna and jacuzzi were both closed, and nobody had told us. We’d chosen the hotel for those features and had paid for them in some way.
