The hosts were amazing, quick to respond and helpful on WhatsApp. Everything worth seeing is within a 15-minute walk, and most key sights are arguably even closer. There's a supermarket five minutes down the hill, while up the hill there's a huge range of local restaurants with cheap but good food. We had a great long weekend here. The property is exceptionally well maintained, and both rooms were super clean with no issues. We upgraded partway through, starting in room #5, a smaller, quiet and comfortable studio at the back, then moving to the larger room #2 at the front. The second room had more living space and a balcony. We'd rebook if we came back.

There was no elevator, so getting our bags up to the second floor was a haul, and there wasn't anywhere to put our belongings. Only one bedside table meant just one bed had an outlet nearby. The kitchen was poorly equipped, and the shower leaked water everywhere. There weren't hooks for towels or even a toilet paper holder. The apartment itself was just okay. Then the owners harassed me for leaving a Booking.com review. I'd avoid this place.

We slept well, with no noise at night, and the small street kept things quiet even though shops and restaurants were close by. The apartment was modern and clean, with a little kitchenette and bathroom. Breakfast came in a basket with bread, fruit, yogurt, granola and other things, and there was enough in the kitchen to put it together in the morning. A few more local breakfast products would have been nice.

Apartment 7 was small but nice, with a view south over the rooftops toward the river. We stayed two nights. There isn't a reception desk, though communication by text was very quick and helpful. The breakfast basket was fine, and more than we expected to be included. We just wished the kitchen had tea cups and a toaster. The wine bar next door is great too. Tell the sommelier what flavors you like and they'll serve very good Portuguese wines. After the tasting, it's an easy climb up the stairs to the apartment.
