Bruval Premium Apartments - Sé Porto

We found the check-in easy and the apartment clean, with a really comfortable bed and an amazing shower. It’s also a great base for exploring Porto.

The apartment was charming, tidy, comfortable, and clean, and the location worked perfectly for our four days in Porto. My husband and I had a great stay, helped along by a kind host who did his best to make things enjoyable. I’d read comments saying there was no soap, but here’s a picture showing that wasn’t the case.

The bathroom had mold throughout and a strong chlorine smell, and we also found the bed much too small and uncomfortable. We both woke up with back pain. The windows were so thin that, even on the second floor, we could make out every word spoken outside. This was easily our worst stay in a flat in the old city. We couldn’t stay any longer, so after booking a nearby hotel we asked for a refund for the remaining three nights. The guy, who had been friendly up to then, turned unfriendly and said a refund wasn’t possible. Don’t book here.

We couldn’t sleep because the beds were uncomfortable and drilling from three huge construction sites around the building caused vibrations. No one had let us know about the work. Water came in through the balcony doors, leaving the room very humid, and there were cigarette butts left by previous guests on the balcony. The bathroom was moldy and smelled strongly of bleach. A horrible apartment.
