The location in the "Foz" district is quiet and quaint, with some upscale areas and nice restaurants. It's a quick walk to the beach and esplanade, which is good for walking, running or biking. You can also walk along the Duoro into historic downtown Porto in about 40min, or take an easy bus ride there. A friend and I spent 4 nights here last week and were really happy with our choice, especially since we wanted to be away from the crowds. Catarina, the innkeeper, was warm, welcoming and very helpful, especially when tracking down our lost luggage. We stayed in the sky loft, which was spacious and had a large screen computer/TV for anyone needing to stay connected. Breakfasts were phenomenal.

We had such a relaxing stay by the ocean, well away from Porto’s busy tourist spots. The courtyard has a really special, almost magical feel. Teresa and catarina were kind and helpful, and made delicious breakfasts. The B&B was designed by Portuguese architect edouardo souto de moura.

The 4 Rooms sits in the old Foz neighborhood, away from the crowds. The breakfast was amazing, and custom concierge help is available. The whole place was rebuilt and designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Eduardo Souto de Moura. Probably the most stylish B&B in town.

The owners made it easy to find Porto’s hidden spots, and THE 4ROOMS can arrange private boat trips on the Douro Valley. Seeing the valley from the river was a highlight. We also discovered Porto’s loveliest area and had superb breakfasts and wonderful food. By the time we’d explored northern Portugal through the owners’ eyes, we felt we’d made friends for life. For one of the best cultural and food experiences you can have, don’t hesitate to stay at THE 4ROOMS.

A place that really stands out.
