D&S - Ribeira Premium Apartments

It's fairly quiet at night for a place in the city center, but there were problems all over the apartment. The balcony door was broken and wouldn't open, and the clothes dryer was crooked. In the kitchen, half the dishes were dirty, and the frying pan and spatulas were unusable. The bed was small, and its base creaked and slid across the floor. The blinds were filthy, full of holes, and only partly open. There was mold along the bottoms of the walls. After a shower, the whole bathroom floor was covered in water, and the bathroom outlet, like many others in the apartment, didn't work. We reported everything to the company right away. They offered cleaning, but it took seven days for anyone to come, and they hadn't answered me before then. The cleaning was only light. They didn't fix the outlets, and the replacement frying pan was defective too. We've stayed in Porto before, and for the same price you can find other accommodation, definitely not with this company.

We really enjoyed the size of this apartment, especially the kitchen and dining area, and all the utilities it had. Sitting at the table and watching the world go by through the big doors and windows was lovely. You can see the river from the balconies, which are just a stone's throw away. The location is great, and there's a reliable lift if stairs are difficult for you. It may suit two adults and a young child or infant best. We love Porto and will definitely return. A great stay.

We had to leave quickly and take refuge in a nearby hotel. The two studios we'd been given, one for each of our two families of four, had only a double bed each, so there weren't enough beds for everyone. The rooms smelled of mold, and the cleanliness was embarrassing. When we called the call center, they said two people could sleep on the sofas, but they were filthy, dirty, and torn. The curtains were worn too. We asked for a refund, but so far haven't received one, so we're taking the matter to a lawyer. The treatment was truly indecent, unlike anything I've seen. We've also asked Booking.com for help several times through its customer service number. Twice they assured us they'd at least get us a refund, but we still haven't had a response.

The one good thing was the location, right in the city center. Otherwise, the apartment was awful and nothing like the pictures in the advertising. It was tiny, and opening the sofa bed left no room to get into the kitchen. It was filthy, with lots of ants and mosquitoes that made our stay a living hell. Squashed mosquitoes covered the walls and ceilings. We bought and used insecticides and repellents, but they didn't help at all. The balconies had broken doors, and the bathroom was very, very dirty. There was noise from the street, which was teeming with people, and from the restaurant right next door while they unloaded supplies. NOT RECOMMENDED.
