The location was probably the best part, and the morning croissant was pretty good. The rest was disappointing: there were dirty marks on the walls, sheets, carpet, and curtains. I can understand marks on the walls, carpet, and curtains, but on the sheets? There's no safe in the room. I read that in other reviews too. Holiday Inn addresses this with a room containing several safes, but anyone can enter that room. The bathroom outlet didn't work. When I asked the front desk, they said it wasn't meant to work for safety reasons, which left me wondering why it was installed at all.

The hotel itself was acceptable, but the reception staff made the stay a very unpleasant one. They spoke to guests rudely and aggressively, and seemed irritated by even simple questions instead of offering help. I expected basic respect and professionalism from the front desk. Based on that service, I wouldn't return or recommend the Holiday Inn in Porto.

We slept comfortably and enjoyed the breakfast, and the location was perfect. Our standard room had no fridge or microwave, but the electric kettle worked for us. I'd highly recommend staying here.

Although it isn't in the city centre, Casa da Musica Metro is within walking distance, and every train takes you downtown. It's an exceptional hotel and very good value for money.

The room wasn't as clean as it should have been, with mold in the shower and a clogged bathroom sink. Still, the location was great, with a metro station and some restaurants nearby. Staff were friendly and let us leave our luggage before check-in, so the experience was okay overall.
