Maria Apartment

The patio was our favorite spot, with its retractable awning, big umbrella, and table for six. We spent so much time there that we never got around to using the TV in the comfortable living room. The rooms are nicely furnished, and the apartment was clean, with comfortable beds. One bedroom has its own bathroom and sits across the comfortable patio from the rest. There’s a small park opposite, and it’s a 10-minute walk to the old town or 20 minutes to the Douro River. A larger grocery store is about 300 meters away and Lidl about 800 meters away. On the same street there are at least five small, intimate restaurants with a nice atmosphere, plus around a dozen more restaurants of different sizes within 400 meters.

There’s no air conditioning, though fans are provided, and the interior is comfortable. The Old Town is close, as are shops, several restaurants, and a KFC. I’d recommend staying here.
