Mouzinho 160 By Oporto Tourist Apartments

I asked for a refund after this awful stay, but the owner refused. We paid a lot and ended up in a filthy place, so I wouldn't recommend the apartment or its owner. Be careful choosing it. The bed linen was a problem from the start: the sheet had hair on it and the pillowcases had lipstick stains. We asked for replacements, but the next set was dirty too, with blood on the duvet cover. We only noticed after uncovering it, and it felt as if the janitor had deliberately hidden the stains. It was too late to get it changed that night, so we had to put up with it. After we complained again, the third sheet was still filthy and had a large stain.

The apartment was gorgeous, spacious, bright, clean, and had a kitchen-living area and a balcony overlooking the city. It's very close to the bridge, with everything in Porto within walking distance. Booking was easy because the team replied quickly and helpfully. We could check ourselves in, and the apartment was ready early in the day. I'd highly recommend Mouzinho Apartments for a trip to Porto.

The interior was nicely done and very clean, and they did offer us a refund if we wanted to move. But having paid 250 Euro per night, we were very disappointed. We were already out for the day, and finding somewhere else at the last minute in Porto would have been difficult and impossible to arrange then. We knew there was no air conditioning, but hadn't realized the bedrooms had no ventilation at all because their windows wouldn't open. There were only a few inadequate fans. The living room windows did open, but faced a noisy street. Even in October the bedrooms were unbearably warm, and we couldn't sleep. There was also what seemed to be constant underground drilling noise in the bedrooms, from 7:45am to 11:30pm. We stayed in the two-bedroom apartment on the first floor, which may explain the terrible experience. If guests are going to have to stay on that floor, the booking information should make it clear. Apartments advertised with lovely views, light, and ventilation shouldn't cost the same as this one. This was possibly one of the worst apartments we've stayed in, and a real disappointment in Porto.

The staff were responsive and available, and gave us great recommendations for things to do in Porto. The location in the center is perfect, and I would happily stay here again. Self check-in was convenient too. Our room was lovely, spacious, and had decent furniture and a basic kitchen, plus tea and coffee facilities, plenty of towels, and soaps. We had a couple of glitches during the stay. The furniture could be more comfortable, and the towels could be better. There are no dishwasher or laundry facilities in the room or building. The elevator is small, but mostly works. Overall, a good serviced apartment.
