Pause Apartments

We booked the smallest apartment for three nights, and it was enough space for two. The high ceiling made the room feel bigger. Everything was clean, the apartment smelled nice and had no mold, and the bed was very comfortable. The only issue was keeping warm in December. On the first floor we had to run the air conditioning nearly all the time, and we didn't want it on while sleeping, so we were a bit cold at night.

The suite worked well for one or two people, but check the size carefully if you're travelling with more so you know it'll be comfortable. It had a small kitchen with tools for simple meals, and fast Wi-Fi that streamed shows and movies without lag at a minimum of 1080p. The apartment was very well maintained, and the AC helped on the hotter days. Beatriz was great, always available on Whatsapp for questions and able to suggest nearby restaurants and useful services. It's an affordable way to get an authentic Portuguese feel in an older, rustic part of Porto, with downtown close enough to walk to. The neighborhood is fantastic.

The only downsides for me were a bed that felt too hard, though that's personal preference, and Wi-Fi that could be better. Otherwise, the apartment had everything needed, was very clean, and looked freshly renovated. We got lots of tips on things to see in the area, and had a very nice stay.

We stayed four nights and found the apartment quiet, comfortable, and just the right size. It felt modern despite being in an old building, and made a great base for exploring Porto's old town and main sights. Campanha train station is about a ten-minute walk uphill. Most attractions are within a half-hour walk, and you can also take the Metro or a bus. There are restaurants and bakeries in the neighborhood, with a Lidl just around the corner. Marina was helpful and knew the area well. I'd happily stay again.
