Our top floor apartment on the fourth floor of No. 73 had partial views, and the location was good. Andre & Patricio, the landlords, are super nice. The steep stairs have high steps, so getting up takes good fitness and plenty of breath, especially with luggage. But everything is central and within walking distance, exactly what we wanted. Absolutely recommended.
The owner was very helpful. We arranged my arrival over WhatsApp, and she even tried to help me check in earlier. The apartment was in great condition and had all the essentials, including Wi-Fi that was sometimes unreliable, a refrigerator, kitchen utensils, an oven, and a microwave. The bathroom was in perfect condition. There’s a large, comfortable bed, plus a sofa bed big enough for two or even three people. A powerful fan and blankets are there for any time of year. The location is superb, steps from the main attractions, and the area felt very safe at every time of day. The nearest metro stop is about a 15-minute walk away, but from there you can get around most of the city without using it much. I only used it to get to the airport and bus station, taking it from Bolhão. There’s no elevator, so luggage has to go up three flights of stairs. Also, the accommodation is at the top of a hill, up several steep streets, so if you have lots of bags or mobility issues, I recommend taking a taxi.
A lovely, cozy place for a couple. It was very clean, well equipped, and peaceful, just right for a restful night after a day out. The landlady was very friendly.
Beautiful city, with lots to do and people who are friendly and relaxed.
The apartments felt very secure, and it was wonderfully quiet.
