I strongly advise against renting from the Passos Manuel innapartments. There was a major leak, with water dripping from the ceiling, and the place was completely unsafe to stay in. It was impossible to live there, an absolute disaster.

The location is the one good thing. Otherwise, don't waste your money. A huge renovation next door made the apartment noisy, even at 8am, as the video showed. The place needs a serious clean: the bedding, sofa, glasses, floors, and more were all dirty. Also check your checkout time carefully. booking.com told us 12 noon, but the owners said 11am. By then we were locked out, with our suitcases still inside, and the code no longer worked.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, but the entrance to the building was dark and the elevators were small and slow. Nights were noisy, maybe because there’s a late-night club behind the building. In the two-bedroom unit, one bedroom has no windows. The bathroom door didn’t lock, and there was neither a dishwasher nor laundry.

The place was cozy and the housekeeper was kind. That was about it. With no reception, online check-in was really difficult, and I had to call more than five times. It took longer than check-in at other hotels or accommodations. They also sent everything through WHATSAPP, even though I don’t use it. What happens to guests who aren’t on WhatsApp? They should offer another way.

The apartment was spacious and in a good location.
