They welcomed us with a local glass of Porto wine at check-in and gave us good tips for things to do. The hostel was very clean, the front desk service was great, and the beds, bedding, and bathroom all felt clean and safe. I'd highly recommend it.

After walking the Camino Portuguese, I stayed here just before heading home. The staff were friendly and easy to chat with, and they helped me arrange a Douro Valley wine tasting tour. There's plenty to get involved in if you want, too. The hostel is clean and cozy, with an excellent location that's an easy walk from everything and close to the Metro and bus stations. I loved my stay and would definitely come back to Porto.

I stayed one day in an ensuite dorm and found it great value for money. The bathroom was clean, and the receptionist was very kind. They offered to keep my luggage for free before check-in. It's easy to get here from the airport, with direct buses a 4-5 minute walk away. I'd recommend it for solo travellers.

The staff made a huge difference during my stay. With my sprained ankle, they carried my luggage up and down the stairs, brought me ice when I needed it, and even offered hiking sticks. Marina helped change my booking before I arrived so I could have a lower room for the first two nights, and I was so grateful. Matilde was also lovely and helpful, with great suggestions like the gardens of the Palacio do Cristal. She speaks great French, too. The service was incredible, and they really went out of their way to help. Keep in mind there's no elevator, and even the reception is up two flights of stairs. The lowest rooms are another two flights above that, so I wouldn't suggest this place if you have mobility issues, even though the staff were so accommodating to me. The hostel is cute and nicely decorated, with a bar at reception that has good, cheap alcohol. The kitchen was clean and well equipped, and you can get laundry washed and dried. There's a cute park right outside, the university is close, and there are tasty, affordable bakeries and restaurants nearby. The sights aren't far either. There are plenty of buses, though the metro is a bit farther away, so public transport isn't perfect but getting around is still convenient. I stayed in two private rooms because of my ankle. The first was spacious and very clean, facing the street, but students downstairs played loud music late every night, even on Tuesday. It went on until 2 or 3am and badly affected my sleep. I needed earplugs to fall asleep, so I wouldn't recommend that room if you're sensitive to noise. The room I had on my last day looked out over the roofs and was very quiet. I'd stay in that one again, hopefully without a sprained ankle. Lovely hostel, and I would definitely return.

Matilde was such a nice receptionist and helped me with everything. The rooms were clean, and I had an amazing time at the hostel. The surfing classes were especially great. Loved my stay!
