The metro is close by, and from here it’s easy to get around in any direction. You can shop right downstairs, too. There were bedbugs in my room, but the staff put a lot of effort into cleaning it. The short-haired woman and the man at reception were patient and kind, and kept trying to sort out problems. This morning they suggested I take the metro to the bus station, which saved me quite a bit of time. I’d stay here again on another trip to Portugal.

Bedbugs ruined my Porto vacation. I moved between four beds and two rooms, washed and cleaned everything, and still had the problem. Other people in my room found bugs in their beds as well. They told me the issue had been dealt with a month earlier, but that clearly wasn't true. The employees tried to be nice, but that doesn't make the bedbugs disappear. Stay away from this place.

Five of the seven people in our group were bitten, and some bites only showed up hours later. The staff tried to help us, but management wouldn't communicate or offer a refund. The hostel was infested with bedbugs, and management knew about it. I was shocked they had no problem giving those same beds to other guests the next night. Outrageous, even for a youth hostel.

The staff were really friendly, and the location is central and convenient. Still, the place felt a bit run-down: beds shifted around, the stair handrail was wobbly, and there was a strange atmosphere. I spent three nights here before my flight home, then noticed bedbug bites on my last day. Older one-star reviews from 10-12 months earlier suggest this had been going on for a long time. Management apparently knew, but hadn't managed to get rid of them. That's a health hazard, and I wouldn't recommend staying until the problem is fixed.
