Rua de Trás Apartments

The only awkward thing about our specific apartment was that its bathroom was reached through the bedroom with a double bed, so all four of us kept walking through the room where I slept. Otherwise, it was really clean and the staff were friendly. We were welcomed with some port and stayed comfortably for five days. There’s an oven, a small fridge, and all the essential crockery and cutlery. I’d recommend it and would stay again.

We stayed in Tricotar, the one with phones on the wall, and it was such a beautiful apartment, with lovely details, lots of light, and plenty of space. It had everything we needed, including a separate bedroom, a cozy living room, and a kitchen. Everything was clean and ready for guests, and the whole place was thoughtfully organized. It’s right in the city center, about two minutes from Clerigos Church and Tower, Lello Bookstore, Rua de Flores, and Sao Bento train station. The owner or manager was very available on messengers. Valentin also gave us useful parking tips and took good care of us. I loved our stay and wish we could have stayed longer.

The area is ideal for seeing older Porto, and I wish I’d checked the Google reviews instead of relying on Booking. I booked through Booking, which I won’t use again, and couldn’t get out of my five-night stay. The owner, who I believe is Valentim, refused a refund if we left early. Booking also refused compensation because the owner said the water was fine and they’d never had internet trouble, despite other reviews mentioning it. A Booking.com supervisor told me there had been no complaints about the property and wouldn’t compensate us. The sheets and pillows had hair on them, the internet was weak, the shower water was tepid, and the couch was stained. The Booking website said the property followed all Covid safety measures, which wasn’t the case.

I loved the decor and would happily stay here again. The apartment was super cute, clean and new, with charming touches, and the location was very convenient for restaurants and shops.
