So Cool Hostel Porto

I stumbled across so cool hostel online when I needed an extra night in Porto. It was really reasonably priced, but Susana at reception is what made the stay so worthwhile. I’d had a long day in the city and was feeling a bit lost. As a woman travelling alone, I felt comfortable and calm with her help. She looked after me and helped with all my travel plans. I can’t recommend the place enough for a few nights. Thank you, Susana.

The common area was clean, and the rooms were tidy and comfortable. The whole place felt welcoming, clean, and well set up for travelers. The young receptionist was lovely, really friendly and helpful, and happy to share tips about the area. She made the experience amazing. I was extremely hungry and asked for another piece of bread. They wouldn’t let me have one even though there were extras, which felt like a waste of food, but that same receptionist gave me a piece. I’d still definitely recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Porto. It has a nice location, a great atmosphere, and wonderful staff.

I’m an older traveler and needed somewhere I could work, but I was very uncomfortable here. The community spaces closed at strange times, I couldn’t go into my room during the day, and the Wi-Fi was weak and unreliable. The manager kept saying the place wasn’t a prison, but it felt repressive. I wanted to stay somewhere with a better location, a nicer atmosphere, and easier access to attractions. I lasted an hour, then gave up the money for my four-night stay and left. I wouldn’t recommend it to more mature travelers who need a workspace.

I’d already told them I’d arrive around 11, but nobody opened the door. I was left out on the street with nowhere to sleep, and they still charged me. Don’t stay with these cruel people.
