Hotel Universal

The staff were cheerful and helpful throughout, and the included breakfast had fresh bread and cake, good fruit, plus toast, yoghurt, cheese, and ham each morning. Our room was cleaned daily, felt comfortable, and had strong Wi-Fi, even though it wasn’t especially big. I’d read comments about the stairs up to the first-floor hotel and was a bit concerned, but they really weren’t bad unless you’re carrying particularly large suitcases. The location is hard to beat. We had a fantastic stay and I’d highly recommend it.

The rooms are separated by thin walls, so you can hear what the people next door are up to. Still, it’s a good hotel in a fantastic spot.

Breakfast could use more choice, though it didn’t bother me much since there were places to grab food nearby. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, and the location is right in the center. I stayed one night and would definitely recommend it.

The only thing that seemed due for attention was the rooms, which could use a little renovation. Mine warmed up easily, the bathroom was clean, and it had been cleaned while I was out. Reception staff on both the day and night shifts were really kind. The entrance stairs were perfectly normal to me, so I’m not sure why people complain about them. The hotel is ideally placed, with everything just a few meters away and the riverside about a ten-minute walk. I’ll come back next time.
