Casa da Figueira

We had a lovely few days at Casa da Figueira, a peaceful rural spot. Mário Salgado was exceptionally kind and attentive, making every effort to help us enjoy our stay. The house was spotless, and he had left disinfectant available for anyone who wanted to use it. The large lawn was beautifully kept. The old stone exterior has been restored with care, while inside the decor feels more contemporary, and both the exterior and interior have been done with great taste. One bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. We chose to cook, so a standard-sized fridge would have been useful. The shower area in the main bathroom, which is already quite spacious, could also be a little larger.

We picked the studio partly because pets were allowed, and it turned out to be really cosy. The location was good, and the setting is ideal if you want to get away from the city and spend time in nature. Our host was very helpful.

Awful experience. We booked for four people through the website and confirmed by phone. On the day, we drove from Lisbon, a 3:50-hour trip, but the GPS couldn't find the address. Once we were in Braga, we called again. The rude owner said Brazilians were very clever and that we wouldn't be staying there, then hung up and wouldn't answer again. At 22:00 we had to find another hotel in an unfamiliar place because that clown couldn't explain the route one more time. We'll never go back, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
