Casa Rico Frade Garden

The private kitchens are fully equipped with pots, pans, an oven, stove, and a big fridge and freezer, so cooking dinner together is easy. We also loved the fresh, tasty sushi from Casa do Frade’s sushi bar in Monsaraz, one of the best we’ve tried so far, and takeout is available too. The garden is a great place to relax in the sun, with plenty of loungers and a bar open from 9 am to 6 pm. There’s also a stone barbecue area, an outdoor shower and bathrooms. Each unit has its own look and personality, and even when there are other guests it never feels crowded. Sergio, the owner, makes sure you have what you need to enjoy your time there. The place is very clean and follows all the COVID restrictions. It works well for couples and families with kids of any age. There’s lots to do nearby, from Monsaraz castle and water activities at the beach to exploring the dark sky and solar system, wineries and local pottery. We had a wonderful time at Casa Do Frade, our home far from home, and will definitely return on our next visit to Alentejo.
