The stars at night and the delicious breakfast make the wild setting even more special. In the middle of Portugal’s cork wasteland, there’s a magical lemon garden run by lovely people who really care about ecology.

The included breakfast was delicious and generous, and the hosts were kind, accommodating, and easy to talk with. We loved how much there was to explore or simply relax around the beautiful property, with a great hike starting right at the entrance. The rooms are thoughtfully designed and incredibly comfortable, with so much attention to detail and the guest experience. It’s in a gorgeous, remote spot, and I can’t recommend it enough. I didn’t want to leave!

We brought our dog and he was sooo happy here. The owners are a family, and they made all the furniture themselves. They’re lovely people and always happy to accommodate us. It’s peaceful, relaxing, romantic, a true oasis. My favourite place ever, and we’d love to come back!

Our boys loved staying in the Hambanine tent. They kept peering into the bushes hoping to spot a herd of elephants, but all we saw were sheep, ducks, or chickens. They never stopped hoping, though. This place makes you dream! It’s wonderfully remote, and just the atmosphere and surroundings are enough to feel relaxing and truly therapeutic. Add spectacular hosts who were always checking that we were doing well, and it was the perfect escape.
