We’ve been using this place as our retreat for the past two years. It’s pet-friendly, which is the cherry on top, and the quiet country setting is perfect for escaping daily stress and slowing down. In summer, there’s a lovely pool, and at night the starry sky is something you can really only see out in the countryside. Maria José welcomes you like a friend coming to visit, and pampers you with attentive care and some local products. She’s always available if something unexpected comes up. The quinta is very well organized, and the little guest houses fit naturally into the surroundings. They have everything you need for a great stay, with personal touches from the owner, from the Caldas dishes and linen towels and sheets to the decor, where each house’s colors work together beautifully.

This is a bread production spot that favors short supply chains and a circular economy. Any surplus bread is given each day to “Joaquim,” who kindly passes it on to people who need it most.
