Resort Martinhal Sagres Beach Family Resort

The breakfast buffet was a highlight every morning, generous, varied, and delicious. The food overall was excellent, and half-board felt like great value. At Martinhal, every detail seemed thoughtfully arranged for families, from the very comfortable rooms with all the practical accessories we needed to the warm, welcoming atmosphere and stunning setting. It was a memorable trip and one of the best family-friendly resorts we’ve visited. We’ll definitely return.

There’s plenty for younger families here, with play areas around the resort and childcare in two locations: smaller babies are cared for in the main check-in building, while toddlers and older children go to a separate care building near the playground. The spa is an easy walk from the main areas, and the massages were great. The staff there were very friendly and professional. It’s good value for the cost, with a few restaurants on site, several pools, a beach area, beautiful views, and standard rooms as well as large rental villas with private pools. Activities include a pedal dirt bike track, bike rentals, and tours into town. A local grocery store is just a few minutes away in town, along with several good surfing options.

There’s lots for both adults and kids to do, and the resort is very kid friendly. The property is sprawling and set in an extremely scenic spot. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, though a bit dated. Service was generally good, but for a five-star property it could be better, as we sometimes had to call a couple of times to get certain things. The restaurants had good food and lots of variety.

Beatrice gave us a warm welcome. The house is spacious and our room was clean. There are kids’ facilities tucked into many corners of the resort, and the heated pool is amazing. I’d love to come back.
