Quinta Lusitânia

We loved spending time at the large pool on hot days, and my daughter especially enjoyed her riding lessons, including a trail ride through the forest and river. The area is peaceful, and our dinner, cooked by the owner, was really enjoyable. We stayed three nights in this beautiful Manor House. The gardens and pastures are lovely, the whole estate is neat and well cared for, and the horses look gorgeous. The owners were warm and welcoming and saw to all our needs. The rooms feel luxurious, with comfortable beds and high quality linens. The house has been restored with so much care, and is full of fascinating antique furniture, art and ornaments. The stables are modern, spacious and well tended, with an arena.

Quinta Lusitania has so much history and beauty that it quickly feels like you’re part of the home and family. Miguel and Tina were wonderful hosts, with impeccable attention to detail. Miguel is a lovely chef, and I only wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy more of his cooking. The wine is delicious and grown right there on the property. There’s also a wonderful horse riding facility with lovely, well kept horses. I can’t wait to visit again. If you’re after a countryside retreat in Portugal, look no further.

The owners know the area really well and were quick to share information whenever we needed it. The price felt very accessible for what we got, and I couldn’t have been happier with the stay. The drive to the farm had absolutely gorgeous views, with green and nature all around, which you don’t see that often nowadays. The place itself was perfect, with beautiful furniture, everything clean and organized, a pool that was always at the perfect temperature, and friendly horses happy to be patted.

Breakfast was amazing, and we had an outstanding dinner one night. Miguel and Cristina went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Our family had a wonderful time at the Quinta Lusitania.
