The grounds were lovely and clean, and the pool was amazing. The rooms were very clean too, but the price felt high for more than two people. We were a family of four with one double bed and a sofa bed that was so small it only fit one person, and would be too short for anyone taller than average. We had to ask for an extra bed, so one of us ended up on a mattress on the floor, another on the uncomfortable sofa, and two in the uncomfortable bed. It felt like the owner treated the place as a business rather than something run with heart.

The breakfast was a real highlight, freshly cooked and personal, and the rooms were clean and well equipped. Casas de Miróbriga is a simply restored farmhouse just outside Santiago do Cacém, in a lovely part of the world. It’s quiet and peaceful, while still close to Sines, Santiago do Cacém and its castle, the Roman ruins, and the disused Railway station. Sines is a must for seafood. If you can, book a room here.
