Casa de Basalto

We really enjoyed the terrace, with the sea on one side and banana and lemon trees on the other. The house itself is charming, modern, and thoughtfully equipped, right down to cling film, paper towels, detergent, clips, oil, salt, and pepper. The pots and pans were in excellent shape, and there’s a roomy fridge with freezer, washing machine, and dishwasher. The owners greeted us in person and were so friendly. They’d left a welcome basket with local cheese, superb Bolo Levodo, great wine, and a few other treats. The island’s highlights are about a 20-40 minute drive away, and a good hiking trail starts close by. The only small catch is the narrow road up from the main road. If that feels too tight, there’s a short detour that lets you join it from above. I’d happily recommend staying here.
