The river-facing terrace was such a lovely place to sit and take in the views, and the hotel is handy for walking trails, shops, and several villages worth visiting. We had a hard time leaving after just one stay. The rooms were bright and comfortable, breakfast was delicious, and everyone on staff was kind and helpful. It’s a family-run stone building, beautifully restored, with decor that suits its villa character. I’d happily recommend it.

We chose to have dinner at the hotel and were glad we did. The owners welcomed us warmly from the moment we arrived. It’s a fabulous building in a great location, and a distinctive little gem on our Portugal trip. Highly recommended.

The views from the windows were wonderful, and it was a comfortable, quiet place to unwind. The restaurant was unusual: there were only two set meals each day, and we had to pick one, though the food was always great. There aren’t many other restaurants nearby, so we ended up eating at the hotel.
