We had a great view from my room and my teammates' rooms, and whenever we asked for something, the service was super quick. I was there for a chess tournament and loved it. Going for walks was another highlight. It is sooo beautiful!

The hotel is decent, but it doesn't feel worthy of four stars. In the mornings, there were times when nobody at all was visible at reception or anywhere on the ground floor, which was bizarre. They seem reluctant to speak English, so bear that in mind if you don't speak much Portuguese.

The layout on the way to the rooms is awful. It feels like being in The Shining. The bedrooms need refreshing. Maybe 10-15 years ago this could have been a four-star hotel, but now it's three stars at most.

We felt welcome, and the facilities were good. There was a variety of food at mealtimes, and we had no complaints. Lovely view, too.
