The hosts made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. We shared lovely meals, and they showed me how to cook a traditional Portuguese dish, something I’ll always treasure. Their son arranged island tours that let me see São Miguel in a personal, meaningful way. I spent nine days at Casa de Pópulo, including my birthday, and felt truly welcomed and cared for. The property is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature, with walking paths on the grounds and the ocean just a short stroll away. It feels authentic and tranquil, while still close enough to Ponta Delgada to explore. I came as a visitor and left feeling like a friend. I’m already hoping to return.

The garden was huge, with a little house tucked inside, and the place was nothing like what we’d expected. We’d chosen it at random for a Christmas trip to the Azores with my son, and were blown away when we arrived. Lady Paula quickly explained everything and then took great care of us, showing us what to see, where to go and what to look out for around the island. Her map, marked up with her own notes, was epic. The house had everything we needed, and anything else was available in the common room. We even found the right kitchenware for a traditional Czech Christmas Eve dinner, which isn’t easy to pull off. A big thank you!

A lovely spot to unwind, with a pool, jacuzzi and even a private hiking trail right on the property. The host was fantastic, welcoming and helpful. Old trees and lush greenery surround the place, and you can see it all from the windows. So peaceful and special.

The owners looked after us really well, even arranging a taxi to the airport. There’s a shared area with games, drinks and other things, plus a nature trail, pool and hot tub. Our accommodation was large and fully equipped. A wonderful place to stay, highly recommended.

We spent seven nights at Casa Do Pópulo with our son in a two-bedroom unit and had a wonderful time. The grounds are beautiful, and the house is more than comfortable, with everything you need. Paula was such a kind, lovely host who checked that we weren’t missing anything and gave us great recommendations. We confidently recommend this place.
