Mediterrâneo Madeira

After long days on the hiking trails, the heated pool and hot tub were a welcome way to unwind. The pool is small, but lovely. Our room was much nicer than I expected, with a really comfortable bed and, luckily, a fantastic sea view from the balcony, which had a swinging chair. Breakfast was good; there wasn't much hot food, but that didn't bother us. The staff were exceptional, and having parking for our rental car was great. Sao Vincente worked really well as a base for exploring the island's northern and inland areas, where most of the hikes are. Restaurants and bars are on the same street. Couldn't recommend it enough.

We stopped in the area near the end of our trip to relax before flying out the next day, and everyone made us feel comfortable. The hotel's shared spaces were very clean, and we got to eat with the ocean in the background. Natasha, the sous chef, kindly accommodated our requests to customize the sushi and dessert a little. Our waiter, Kimberly, brought the food and drinks promptly and really knew the menu, answering our detailed questions and offering recommendations. Everyone was so friendly.

We had lovely views of both the bay of Sao Vicente and the cliffs to the west, with the sea right beside the hotel and waves audible on the beach all day. There’s a supermarket underneath, plus eateries nearby and some great walks. The staff were upbeat and friendly from arrival through departure, including in the bar and restaurant. We had a language barrier, but managed to understand each other using our phones and a shared language. The facilities include a pool and jacuzzi, and our bed was super comfortable; the shower was excellent too. Breakfast was excellent, and we also ate at the restaurant once, where the food was very good. We had vegetarian lasagne and warm Tuna sushi rice, and enjoyed a couple of cocktails at the sky high bar. We recommend it and will stay again. Cheers 😁😁

Natasha was happy to customize my meal, which I really appreciated since I'm quite picky. The food was delicious, and everything was presented beautifully. Kimberly was also very helpful in clearing up our questions about the menu. The restaurant service pleased us a lot. The “Tequenos” tasted just like the ones I used to eat back in my country. Keep up the great work, congratulations!
