Casa da Carvalha

We had a wonderful stay at Casa da Carvalha and felt right at home. The house is well equipped and welcoming. Many thanks to Sr. Luís Gabriel for his kindness and the snack he left for us when we arrived. The house is beautiful, modern, and practical, and its location in Vila de Loriga is excellent. The village has all the essentials, including a bakery, pastry shop, mini markets, butcher, pharmacy, cafés, restaurants, and an ATM. Praia de Loriga is 1.9 km away, and the walk there is well worth it. It’s incredibly peaceful, and listening to the silence is just what we all need to recharge. We’ll definitely recommend it and return. Many thanks to Sr. Luis Gabriel and to the person who looks after the maintenance and cleaning.

The booking and payment arrangements are handled exactly as they should be, and it was a privilege to feel I’d become one of Senhor Gabriel’s friends. Inside, everything is spotless and completely in order, with thoughtful details, timeless furniture, and a full set of facilities. The welcome basket had sliced bread, red wine, water, honey, requeijão, and tempting sweets. There are towels and bedding in abundance, and air conditioning in every room. It’s probably the best local lodging I know, with a great spot in Loriga. The only drawback is getting to Loriga. Good things to you.

We stayed for two nights and had a lovely experience in this welcoming, pleasant house. Sr Luis Gabriel was very friendly. I’d recommend staying here if you’re visiting Loriga. There’s a beautiful river beach nearby, Torre is under 30 minutes away, and Aldeia de Natal, Aldeia da cabeça is 15 minutes away.

We arrived to a lovely surprise: boards of cold cuts and cheeses, presunto, chouriço, bread, sweets, and local red wine. We also got messages with suggestions for places to visit. The house has everything you need, and it’s warm and super comfortable, with an incredible mountain view. The decor is unique and the place is charming. I’d happily return and highly recommend it.
